IRGC Missile Boats Reach Speed of 116 Knots
WANA (Apr 30) – In a ceremony marking National Persian Gulf Day, Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri, Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy, announced the successful development of a missile-launching vessel capable of reaching a speed of 116 knots (approximately 215 kilometers per hour).
According to Admiral Tangsiri, the vessel has completed all necessary technical and specialized tests, signaling a significant milestone in Iran’s naval capabilities.
“We have worked tirelessly, day and night, to ensure the security of the Persian Gulf,” Admiral Tangsiri stated.
The admiral also reflected on the progress made by Iran’s naval forces, recalling that prior to the 1979 revolution, Iran lacked the capability to even produce a small fishing boat. At the time, U.S. companies manufactured boats for Iran.
“Now, however, we have developed the ‘Martyr Soleimani’ vessel, equipped with the most advanced technologies, capable of sailing 5,000 nautical miles nonstop across the oceans,” he added.
